El Museo abrió sus puertas el 21 de junio de 1987, exhibe una colección de instrumentos musicales tradicionales, indumentaria de danza y doméstica, artefactos de ritual y domésticos y una colección de pinturas del artista tzutuhil Miguel Chávez Petzey.
Se ofrecen visitas guíadas cada hora por las salas Pre-hispánica, Contemporánea y La Cofradía, complementadas con una proyección audiovisual en el auditorium, experiencia que le permitirá apreciar imágenes y sonidos del universo que acompaña la música maya tradicional contemporánea.

Admisión:Q30 adultos, Q15 estudiantes y Q5 niños menores de 10 años.
La admisión incluye: visita guíada al Rincón Sacatepéquez, sala que exhibe una colección de textiles de las 16 comunidades mayas cackchiquel que históricamente han habitado las tierras que circulan La Antigua Guatemala, Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
Incluye visita guíada al Museo del Café y sendero natural que también forman parte del complejo de museos.

El Centro de Investigación y Museo Casa K'ojom se encuentra ubicado dentro del Centro Cultural La Azotea en Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez. Si viaja en automóvil le tomará solamente cinco minutos del centro de La Antigua Guatemala.
¿Cómo llegar?
Si viaja en automóvil, debe tomar la ruta hacia Jocotenango;al llegar a la plaza encontrará a su derecha una flecha donde se lee MUSEOS, la cual le indica cruzar hacia la izquierda. Después de haberse desviado de la carretera principal recorrerá aproximadamente trescientos metros y encontrará frente a usted la entrada al Centro Cultural contiguo al Cementerio.
Para las personas que no viajan en automóvil, el Centro Cultural La Azotea ofrece servicio de transporte cada hora en punto desde el parque central de La Antigua Guatemala entre 9:00 y 14:00 horas.Para usar este servicio solamente debe abordar el minibús que está identificado con los logotipos de Museo Casa K'ojom, Centro Cultural La Azotea y Museo Del Café frente a la Catedral.
The Museum opened its doors June 21st, 1987, the visit includes guided tours through the Pre-hispanic, Contemporary and La Cofradía exhibits, a collection of traditional musical instruments, dance and ritual costumes and artifacts, and a collection of paintings by mayan tzutuhil artist Miguel Chavez Petzey.
The tour is followed by an audiovisual presentation in the auditorium, an experience which will let you appreciate the sounds and images from the universe of traditional mayan music.
The museum is open monday to friday 8:30 to 16:30 hrs., saturdays 8:30 to 14:00 hrs., sunday is closed.
Admission fee: US$ 4 adults / US$ 2 students / US$ 1 children under 10.
Admission fee includes a guided tour to the Rincón Sacatepéquez , a permanent exhibit around a textile collection of the 16 mayan communities that have historically inhabited the surrounding lands of La Antigua Guatemala, a World Heritage site.
Then you walk through the Coffee Museum and a nature trail also located at the museums complex and end up your visit enjoying the complementary cup of coffee.
Location
Casa K'ojom Research Center and Museum is located inside Centro Cultural La Azotea in Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez. Traveling by car it takes only five minutes from the center of La Antigua Guatemala.
How to get there?
Car drivers should take the route to Jocotenango from Antigua (Northwest). Soon you will find the local plaza to your right and there you will see an arrow with the sign MUSEOS pointing to your left. After making the left turn away from the main road, you will drive around 300 mts. before finding the main entrance of the Cultural Center next to the Cementery.
For those not traveling by car, the Cultural Center offers shuttle service every hour at the hour from the central plaza of La Antigua Guatemala between 9:00 and 14:00 hours. To use this service, take the minibus identified with the logos of Museo Casa K'ojom, Centro Cultural La Azotea and Museo Del Café in front of the Cathedral.
